📰LIVE LONG AND PROSPER-60TH STAR TREK ANNIVERSARY

934 Star Trek fans attended London’s Science Museum in September for the 60th anniversary. While in attendance, they attempted to pick up a Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous Vulcan salute. They held the “V” , Spock’s signature move for a full minute, and Guinness confirmed the record. Scotty played by Actor Martin Quinn from Star Trek’s Strange New Worlds, also took part and had one very important action in mind “I’m going to hang my Guinness World Record certificate in my brother’s room to really rub it in.”

📰BOUNCE TO SUCCESS-RUBIK’S CUBE ON A POGO STICK

Five years ago, a 16 yr old Annapolis Royal named Saul Hafting solved 211 Rubik’s cubes while jumping on a pogo stick. Now 21, he recently got word that Guinness is featuring his record in their 2027 edition. “It’s very unique,” Hafting said, “…and quite the spectacle to see if I do a demonstration.” Featured in the 2027 edition, Saul’s riding that momentum into a media tour to promote it.

📰WHAT A SCREAM-THE GUTTURAL SCREAM AT THE SEA

A local resident organized an event where more than 100 people showed up to shout into the Pacific Ocean at Vista Del Mar. A flyer circled stating reasons to scream were clear “rent, AI, anger” and a straight forward “feels good.” What followed was a judged scream contest where the winner Olivia Gugliemotto hit a whopping 121.9 decibels. Her scream, she said, was aimed “at the world in general.” The winning prize for the scream just shy of the world record (129 decibels) landed her a small megaphone and a bit of a break at sea.
